Win your way to AISF

Win your way to AISF

Win the AISF dream experience

You don’t have to be a great dancer. You just have to love salsa.

Entries are open. Last day to enter: November 22, 2026.

Enter the competition

A packed dance floor at the Amsterdam International Salsa Festival

What this is

You dance. You share. Your people decide.

Film yourself dancing salsa. Post it. Tell us why you want to come to Amsterdam. That is the whole thing.

This is not a dance competition. There is no jury, no scores and nobody counting your turns, and we only check that an entry follows the rules.

So what is it? The dancing gets you in. After that the people who see your video decide, and that is our audience as much as yours.

Nobody gets there on their own circle alone. Near the top you need likes from people who have never met you, so a video that makes a stranger stop watching is worth more than a long follower list. Nobody is scoring your technique, but an audience does respond to what it enjoys watching, and that is rarely the most technical video. It is usually the one with the most joy in it.

Then it goes in two rounds. Round one happens on your own post: the likes and comments it picks up are what count, and a comment counts heavier than a like. Round two happens here: the entries with the most likes and comments go through as finalists, and the public picks the winner on this website.

So the real question is: how many people can you get behind you?

The prize

One weekend, everything included

  • AISF Full PassFour days, every workshop, every show, every party
  • Return flightFrom anywhere in the world, booked by us, from the airport nearest to you

  • A private lessonWith an AISF artist of your choice, if their schedule allows

Enter solo or as a duo. If you win, the prize is for the people in your entry: one person for a solo entry, two people for a duo entry.

The lines marked with a dot depend on the programme and on who is available. They are not a promise.

How to enter

Five minutes, start to finish

  1. Make a short videoThirty to sixty seconds of you dancing salsa. Kitchen, studio, street, party. Anywhere. Say AISF or Amsterdam out loud in it, that is part of the entry.
  2. Post it publiclyOn Instagram or Facebook, from your own account, set to public. A new post, not one you put up months ago.
  3. Add AISFOn Instagram: add us as a collaborator, tag us and use the hashtag #WinYourWayToAISF.
  4. Say whyWhy you want to come to AISF, in your own words. Put it in your caption as well as in the form: a story is what makes people comment, and comments count heaviest.
  5. Send us the linkThrough the form on this page. Posting alone is not an entry.
  6. We check itWe look at every entry and put the ones that follow the rules on this page and on our socials.
  7. Your people show upRound one. Likes and comments on your post are what count. They keep counting until November 30, 2026, a week after entries close, so a late entry still gets a fair run.
  8. The finalRound two. The entries with the most likes and comments go through as finalists, and the public picks the winner here on the website.

Add AISF as a collaborator

This is the one step people forget, and without it your entry is not complete. On Instagram:

  1. Open your post and tap the three dots, then Edit.
  2. Tap Tag people, then Invite collaborator.
  3. Search for @int_salsa_festival and send the invite.

Your video then also appears on our account, in front of everyone who follows AISF. That is the point: you get our audience, we get yours.

The rules, short version

Who can enter

  • Anyone who loves salsa, at any level, anywhere in the world. Beginners are more than welcome.
  • Enter solo or as a duo. If you win, the prize is for the people in your entry: one person for a solo entry, two people for a duo entry.
  • Your post has to be public, on your own account, and stay online until the competition ends.
  • It has to be a new post, published on or after September 28, 2026, with a video you filmed for this competition. Everybody starts at zero on the same day.
  • You have to say AISF or Amsterdam out loud in the video. It is also how we can tell the video was filmed for this.
  • Recycling an existing video leads to disqualification. That includes adding us as a collaborator to an old post, and reposting older footage as if it were new.
  • On Instagram we have to be added as a collaborator. A missing collaborator, tag or hashtag you can fix by editing your post, and the entry counts again. A recycled video you cannot fix.
  • One entry per person. Entering twice does not double your chances, it takes them away.
  • We can refuse an entry that breaks the rules or that does not belong on a festival page.
  • Leave the like count on your post visible, otherwise we cannot count it.
  • Artificial, bought or fraudulent engagement can disqualify your entry. We check the highest entries by hand before anyone becomes a finalist.

The AISF Winner Journey

Win AISF, dance with someone you love, and take your followers along for the ride.

If you want to, you can share the whole thing: the moment you find out, booking the flights, landing in Amsterdam, meeting the artists, your private lesson, dinner at our table, your first night on the floor. We will help you with whatever you need and share it on our channels too.

Only if you feel like it. Nobody has to turn their weekend into a production, and it has nothing to do with winning. The prize is yours either way.

Questions

Good to know

Do I have to be a good dancer?

No. This is not a dance competition and there is no jury. Dance the way you dance.

If it is not a dance competition, what is it?

A competition, just not about dancing. Anyone can enter at any level and nobody scores your turns. What decides it is how people respond to your video: likes and comments first, votes on this website after that. And because you add us as a collaborator, your video lands in front of everyone who follows AISF, not only the people who already follow you.

I live outside Europe. Can I enter?

Yes, and we would like you to. Wherever in the world you are, we fly you in. If you need a visa for the Netherlands we write you an invitation letter, but you have to be able to apply in time, so tell us as soon as you win.

Can I enter on my own?

Yes, and plenty of people will. You then win the trip for yourself: one pass, one flight, your own room. Want to win the experience for two? Then enter as a duo and dance together in the video.

Can I use a video I already have?

No, and it would not work anyway: you have to say AISF or Amsterdam out loud in the video, so an old clip cannot qualify. Recycling older footage leads to disqualification. Dancing for sixty seconds in your kitchen takes ten minutes, and that is all we are asking.

Do likes count?

Yes, in round one. Likes and comments on your own post are what get you through, and a comment counts heavier than a like. The final round is here on the website, and only the finalists are in it.

Can I just buy some likes?

Artificial, bought or fraudulent engagement can disqualify your entry. We check the highest entries by hand before we pick the finalists, and a thousand likes overnight from empty accounts is not hard to spot.

What if I forgot the collaborator?

You can still add it. Edit your post, invite us as a collaborator, and your entry counts again. We mail you if we spot it.

What if I have a small following?

Enter anyway. The collaborator post puts your video on the AISF account, in front of thousands of dancers who have never heard of you, so you are not limited to the people you already know. And a small group that really shows up beats a big list that scrolls past.

Can I delete my video afterwards?

Your post has to stay online until the competition ends. After that it is yours to do with as you like.

What if I already have a ticket?

Then you win the rest, and we refund the pass you bought. Nobody pays twice.

Who can I ask?

Mail ivan@extremos.nl. A real person reads it.
