Fernando Sosa left Montevideo for Italy as a teenager, met a Cuban teacher there and never really went back to anything else. In 2000 he started Tropical Gem together with Rafael Gonzalez, and that company grew into one of the best known names in Caribbean dance, on stages from small congresses to the biggest festivals in the world.

His own way of moving has a name of its own, Sosa Style, and it borrows from hip hop and afro as much as from salsa. Force, precision and speed, is how he describes it himself. He teaches three workshops over the weekend, and together with Marco Ferrigno he leads the Performance Bootcamp for dancers who want to be pushed properly.
